Middle School Girls Therapy Group
For Girls 11-14
Middle-school can be a challenging and confusing time for developing young ladies. This 10week group is designed to provide education and support to pre-adolescent and teen girls ages 11-14 as they learn effective strategies to manage daily life stressors.
Topics of this group will include:
- exploring and developing a healthy self-esteem
- managing emotions such as anxiety, sadness and anger
- learning skills to cope with transitions and life stressors
- learning healthy boundaries in relationships
- managing social media
- peer relations and social skills
- time management and structuring routine
- understanding emerging desire for independence
Group members can expect to:
- Feel connected and supported from peers going through the same struggles
- Learn and practice healthy communication skills
- Learn ways to improve their mood and ability to manage ups and downs in emotion
- Decrease impulsive behaviors, procrastination or isolation
- Develop a deeper understanding of self
Group Facilitator
Dayna D’Amico, LCSW is the facilitator for our teen girls groups. Dayna has extensive experience working with adolescent, teen girls and women who are diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders. For three years Dayna was employed as a mental health associate at the Teen Girls Program of Princeton House Behavioral Health. After pursuing further education and receiving her LCSW Dayna joined the Women’s Program in Eatontown, New Jersey where she currently holds the role of senior primary therapist. Dayna has served clients struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma symptoms, addiction and relationship issues.
