Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Trauma Therapy

IFS is an evidence-based psychotherapeutic method of trauma therapy. It’s transforming, compassionate, empowering, and freeing. It integrates you with your internal world.

Welcome. I’m Ellen Gregory, licensed marriage and family therapist and owner of Thrive. I provide IFS for individuals healing from:

  • Complex relational issues resulting from emotional abuse from adult relationships and/ or childhood
  • Attachment patterns such as people pleasing & codependency, love addiction, anxious/ avoidant patterns.
  • Navigating the distress of infidelity, ending of a relationship, loss & grief.
  • The crisis of becoming a parent (which no one tells you about) – how to manage isolation, depression, anxiety and panic personally and in your relationship.

How IFS can help you

Internal Family Systems therapy helps people by accessing and healing parts of themselves that may be stuck in roles and survival strategies. These survival strategies may show up in present day relationships and prevent you from creating healthy patterns of attachment. In IFS, every person is made up of a system of protective and wounded parts that work together to maintain the systems defense structure. Without realizing it, you may be stuck still surviving through the trauma you experienced in the past, and unable to live in the present. IFS therapy is about developing a relationship with your parts, and a felt understanding of how they parts work to protect you, to free you up and develop new ways to set healthy boundaries and meet your needs.
